GPS POI > GPS Forum > Garmin > Disparity between Mapsource and Garmin route finding

Has anyone else compared the route generated by MapSource and the Garmin unit? After trying several routes it seems to me that the Garmin algorithm is far superior to that of MapSourse. Even after trying and altering the various settings within MapSource. I cannot get it to replicate the Garmin routes. Has any one else experienced this and has any one come up with a solution?

Software for both the Garmin and Map source are up to date

I have found this as well with my nuvi 760, what I did was work out the best route on map source, then when I send the route to my garmin, you then edit the route on your gps and insert additional points along the way, until you get the same route as you did within map source but don't just add a town use a point on the road that you are going to travel on otherwise it will guide you to the centre of the town then continue, just make sure that when you add the new point it is on the correct side of the road that you are going to travel on otherwise it will guide you to do a u turn.
