You gave us quite a difficult job to do. We spent a few days looking for an available test equipment. We found 2 quite good GPS models with a lot of extras: tinted windows, 6 Speaker Stereo, Engine Immobiliser, Control - Automatic Stability + Traction, REAR SPOILER, ABS (Antilock Brakes), LEATHER TRIM, Power Steering, 18'' M/TECH alloy wheels. The other GPS model had metallic paint in addition. We explained to BMW dealer that we need to test his GPS device, but we were unable to connect it to our laptop (it was against dealers policy). We were offered to purchase the first GPS model for $62000 which was excellent $4000 below the initial price.
We had a big meeting following the test drive of both GPS devices (keeping in mind that for any further tests we need to purchase it). We decided that despite excellent looking hardware (I like it's alloy wheels) it is over the limit as we have policy not to buy GPS equipment with a price tag over $50000.

I assume you were actually after the alerts, rather than the car, lol!
It depends on the satnav hardware in the bmw as to whether red light and speed camera warnings can be added. The best solution can be achieved with the mk4 hardware which can be found in 2002-2006 bmw, mini, range rover etc. The later professional version satnav (2006-2009) can also have alerts added to the satnav. If you have an earlier car, or the business version, then you are out of luck.
