Hi All,
How to create a new GPS PoI file:
1.
Create a simple text file or CSV file with all adressess. Save it as CUSTOM_POI.txt or CUSTOM_POI.csv
The file should look like:
address1, citi1
address2, city2
address3, city3
Do not list a company name and/or phone number
2.
Goto http://garmin.gps-data-team.com/poi_manager.php (Garmin, TomTom, etc.)
or http://garmin.gps-data-team.com/extra/ (Garmin media POI)
(found here: http://www.gps-data-team.com/convert.php )
and load the saved CUSTOM_POI file.
Alternative input: Copy and paste your addresses into the input box where available.
3.
Press the Open (or Start) button to load the list.
4.
Click on the addresses listed on the right side list to geocode (find address coordinates). Zoom in/out or move/click on the map to adjust the PoI place)
5.
Repeat this for all listed lines. Simply enter a new address, as many as you want.
6.
Select an output POI format (Garmin, Navman, TomTom, GoogleEarth, iGO, CSV, GPX, OV2, KML, LMX, TXT, HTML, etc) and press the SAVE button to save the CUSTOM_POI.* file to your PC ot MAC.
Tip: TomTom POI Editor is simple and fast, GPX Extra POI Editor is smarter and better for advanced Garmin users and Garmin media files (TourGuides).
