I have a TomTom ONE and the other day I went to turn it on and it came up with an error message: "No maps found". It is really frustrating as I use it quite a lot.

What can I do about it, I went on the tomtom site and found nothing. I couldn't even find a contact number. If anyone could help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

I had the same problem. I found a solution on my Dell x51v. When I receive this message remove my SD card and then restart TomTom, this fixed the problem. Please keep in my I have TomTom maps on my CF card.

Hope this helps.

Ok this has worked on at least four Tomtom one's and one TomTom xl's that I have tried,
First of all connect your Tomtom to your computer.
Making sure your online,Go to log on.
Download the latest TomTom home
If you've not created an account create one now.
If you've had to create an account restart tomtom home.

You should have the tomtom home screen in front of you,
Now even if tomtom home is showing you logged in, ignore this.
Click your email address in the top right hand side of the screen and log in again and click continue.
Then click Device/disconnect device.
Now your Tomtom will update itself and your maps will be restored.

Please let me Know if this has worked for you.

This worked for my TomTom One XLT Europe too.

Thanks for this fix - it sorted it out after a couple of tries (had to restart TT Home a couple of times).

Brilliant! Thanks loads for the fix!

Sorry no it hasn't worked at all for me!
I've tried that loads of times now and still shows "No maps found!" error.
I've even tried formatting my card, then copying everything back over - I'm back to where I started... "No maps found!" Even though my map is shown in all the files and under 'show contents of my ONE'

Please help! Sad

Sounds like a file is missing from the TomTom map directory. Try and download another copy of the map. What version map is it? If you are trying to install if it is a v7 map, it won't show if it is 675 map.
Try another copy...

Hi, I have a Via 1435 that gave me the no map foun. Got a hold of a tech rep from tomtom (in India) who knew how to fix this. Here are the steps.
THE REASON FOR THE NO MAPS FOUND IS THAT THERE IS NOT ENOUGH MEMORY IN THE TOMTOM TO HOLD THE NEW MAP. YOU HAVE TO ADD A 8 GTB MICRO SD CARD. LOOK FOR THE SD SLOT ON THE DEVICE. On the 1435 the slot is hidden by the place where the power cord plugs in. If you use a flashlight you will find it.
STEPS:
1 Load MyDirect Drive Software. Log in, if you do not have a account create one.
Here is the TRICKY PART. Hold down the on button on the GPS until toy here the drum sound. When the screen comes up with NO MAPS FOUND put in the sd card. Follow the prompts on the GPS screen until it sways to format the card. Format the card.
3 When the card is formatted, connect the card to your computer.
4 Guess what, MyDirect drive software recognizes the card.
5.On the top bar of thr DiRect drive you see 3 topics, click either overview or my content (I forget which one)
6. The one that shows the updated map for your gps is the one you need.
7 Just click on that map.
8 MyDirect drive does the rest. It down loads the map to the computer and installs it on the3 gps.
9. When finished, it prompts you to remove the GPS.
You now have a working GPS.
This worked for me.
Good luck.

These devices are extremely user unfriendly & really should not need all this user wasted time merely to get them to do what they are supposed to do!
